Feeling good boys? Feeling great? Well we should be well on the way to either goodness and or greatness given our 2 from 2 record for the season thus far. I have been contemplating thinking about thinking… Our achievements as a club to date:

1. Preseason winners!

· So what who gives a XXXX…

2. 100% season record over 2 rounds.

· It aint nothing but a thang…

3. Big numbers down to training.

· So what if our club is popular, who cares…?

4. Swelling fan base.

· Only club to have a new website, what up…

5. Some of the sexiest women and girlfriends in the league.

· Looking good girls… Real good.

6. Probably the most multicultural group in Australian sporting history:

· Caucasian – the descendents of the dodgy from old Britain, too many to name.

· Asian – at last count there were at least 5 number one chunzies.

· Samoan – thank papa Osa for this.

· Papua New Guinea-Pig – Lloydie, jungle bush, Justin Marshall?

· Pakea – Craaaag, Bo, captain courageous.

· Horis – wearing their moko’s on the inside, shot bro…

· Canada – eyyyy.

· Americaaaaa – f*@# yeah!

· Puppet Character’s – Alfie,

· Farming Machinery – Husq “robbo” varnah…

As a result there should be nothing but excitement for the year ahead!

Shall we discuss A grade’s game on the weekend??? Some say it was farcical – in reference to the adjudication by the referee? Others point out that despite poor conditions it was a fairly entertaining game to watch? From a players perspective the game was an ugly, the result – an ugly win. Now we shall break this term “ugly win” down into its essential components:

U.G.L.Y – It’s not what other teams player’s and supporters look like It is also a descriptive term for periods of the weekend game where things weren’t going our way i.e. possession, territory, penalties, missed tackles and ultimately tries. Morale dropped at times, the going was tough so things looked touch and go for a while if Norto’s fingernails were anything to go by.

W.I.N – The reverse of defeat, fail, lose and surrender. Despite various obstacles and challenges that in past seasons may have seen us defeated or surrendered, as a team we lifted and produced a positive result that was topped only by the animated team song after the whistle. When morale dropped, inspirational skipper Timmay Scott lifted us and looking for the next big tackle, loose ball or line break. We overcame the negatives, lifted and came out winner’s.

So an ugly win but a win none the less boys and another bonus point to pocket. So to focus toward the weekend’s game. Brothers, fish or affectionally know as the filth!!

Special mentions time, highhhhhhhh 5!!!!! Without doubt the event of the weekend goes to Mr. Chip n Chase, Johno. For some reason nothing good comes off his foot, except for his footy boots! And connecting with the ball off the ground destined for the family jewels of our own Tahl is no exception. Thanks Johno, now Tahl has a reason for being cranky all the time, and yes we have it on camera. The ‘gull’ strikes again with a hat-trick of tries. Dion and Browny combined powers to stir up the green slime no end and provided some light entertainment between what was quite a serious game. Well done to all.

Last Thursday we said farewell to our rising star Kerrod Mortarella, on to bigger things on the Gold Coast (Pup bigger is not always better, but it always looks good). Our new recruit Aaaaaalllllbut can and will dance… Clayton was knee deep in female admirers with Billy not far behind.

So let’s present ourselves to training focused on the game ahead and dedicated to improving our all-round performances week after week. With a 3 week sojourn on the horizon the options include:

1. 2 wins from 3 games 66%.

a. A loss against the Brethren on your conscience.

b. Feeling ashamed and guilty because we let the filth beat us.

2. 3 wins from 3 games 100%.

a. Undefeated throughout the year, preseason and regular season.

I know which alternative I would prefer boys.
