Despite two huge score lines in both grades on the weekend we allowed Innisfail in both grades look better than they are. Despite this in phases we did manage to give them a touch up. As we near the end of the 1st round we really need to step up as traditionally we tend to go a little flat at this time of the season. This week First Grade take on Port Douglas in Port and as we know they prove to be a tough match and any points we go away with are welcomed.
A bit different to other reports but I would like to make mention of some of the great work being done around the club both on and off the field. Firstly to our Fitness trainer Sherie who is working tirelessly with the boys to get them as fit as possible. Brendan “Crabby” Turner who works his guts out both on and off the field, he runs around like a mad man getting every thing organised to ensure the smooth running of the club and next minute he changes from his regular crab cloths into his super crabman outfit he wears on the field. To Justin Marshall who has spent umpteen hours getting the sprinklers working out at the field and along with his trusty side kick Oscar Fasavalu and are the first to put there hand up when the lines need to be marked out at the field and both have proven to be great assets to the club. Muddy and Geoff Bennett helping out on the BBQ at the home games. Tahl Young who assisted Justin and Oscar with the installation of the sprinkler system. To all the committee members who chip in to lend a hand when needed.
I wanted to mention these people as they are the types of people who strengthen the back bone of the club and felt it necessary to make mention of them so we can all give them a pat on the back and say thanks for your efforts so far this year.
