Heartbreak for Ressies

Firstly I would like to extend a huge congrats to first grade, first GF since 2005 all the best boys I am sure you guys can do it!

Well what can I say, as a player some wins are handed to you on a silver platter, others you have to work for and unfortunately some of the boys were not willing to do that last Saturday. JCU never gave themselves a real chance to begin with, handing Barron 9 points straight away through 3 separate penalties pretty much straight in front of the goals. Things didn’t get any better after that with a horrible bounce of the ball Barron were the first to cross the line making the score 16 nil. A little mongrel crept back into the side and JCU finally lifted enough to cross the line just before half time. Half time score 16 – 7 Barron’s way. The boys rallied together at half time and tried to seek answers in order to stop the onslaught. Some of these answers must have worked with JCU coming out for the second half a far better outfit. But at the end of the day with 9 free point’s right in front of the sticks and over 9 turnovers in rucks and mauls JCU were no match on the day and ended up losing. Despite the loss special mention goes to Rodel, Grant Turner and Eddy Caine for putting in 100%.

Now we can only look to the future and concentrate on smashing the fish. As coach of reserve grade I look forward to your support and I hope we don’t let our supporters down.
